Short description

About the game

Tidy Wilds is a match-3 puzzle adventure made by a small independent developer in the UK. Players swap and match rubbish (cans, bottles, wrappers, cables and more) across 125 levels in six worlds, from Whispering Woods and Litter City to Coral Reef and the rainforest of Canopy Kingdom, guided by Nutmeg the squirrel. As each world is cleaned up it comes back to life, and players collect its wildlife as cards: 18 animals in all, from hedgehogs and puffins to sea turtles and jaguars. Every new win unlocks a real nature fact.

Fair to play. Every level can be beaten without paying. There are no countdown offers and at most one offer pop-up a week; younger players see no prices in pop-ups, and purchases by under-16s go through a grown-up check. No account is needed: progress is saved on the device, and players who sign in to Game Center (iPhone and iPad) or Google Play Games (Android) keep a cloud copy with their own Apple or Google account, which Tidy Wilds never sees.

Finish a world, plant a real tree

One real tree for each world finished for the first time, paid for by Tidy Wilds. Players never pay for it.

Real trees

How the real trees work

When a player finishes a world for the first time, the game checks the winning moves on its server and then orders a real tree from its planting partner, Tree-Nation: one tree per world, six per player. The trees are paid for out of the game's own ad and purchase income; players never pay for them. In the game each tree shows as Earned, then Ordered once it has been ordered and paid for (the partner's project plants it in its next planting season), then Planted once the partner confirms it is in the ground. Trees are ordered each month within a budget set from the previous month's income, so an earned tree can wait for the next month's budget. Each world has its own real species, chosen from the partner's projects, and no young tree is guaranteed to survive. Running totals are published at tidywilds.com/trees.

Tidy Wilds is a commercial game, not a charity. It buys trees through its planting partner as a customer; the partner does not endorse the game. The full conditions are in the real-tree terms.
